How strange for a child
lightning and thunderous clouds
water from open sky
Angels are bowling in heaven
they're told when asking how - why?

Mist of the morn is
haze as sunlight creeps the night
darkness descending
brings the mist once again
black to white - never ending

Beyond the gates of picket
lay paths made of finest stone
a garden, hidden grows
trees for shading western sun
a life plot nobody knows

Papery pastels
bloom from an old cactus patch
where no water fell
spines surround gentle blossoms
I lament my touch denied

My cat's best friend is
a chatty cat who visits
now and then with tales
of other cats, wailing a
long string of gossipy news

A belabored breath
revealed a doom impending
the presence of death
one day the night unending
forever one day

At seven I was a
surplus of lips and teeth
red in my rude hair
legs too long to safely sport
my shy awkward self

Surely you jest, please
diamond in - the - rough seas
to share life with me
would polish you without ease
I don't suggest it

cover your eyes, close your ears

you can't get me anyway
