Re: sure enough...

John, Dear John..sigh !!!

There is big money in supplements? well of course there is: no one is denying that.
Businesses have to make a profit, otherwise they go under.
The Supplement Industries biggest mark-ups are within MLM, but I am not an advocate of that kind of distribution of any products.
BUT, in comparison to the Pharmaceutical Industry, Nutraceuticals are very (and I mean very) cheap.

Do I know where the Council receives its funding?
Well of course: from charitable organizations and personal donations..............

Contributions
"While we are in the process of applying for grants from charitable foundations, we depend on charitable donations from individuals to keep active in our mission. Donations would be appreciated and would allow us a more active and effective role in raising global awareness of the importance of vitamin D in human health.

If you would like to send a contribution, please use the address below or the PayPal donate button on the sidebar. Tax-deductible contributions should be made payable to the Vitamin D Council. Thank you for your support".

I fail to see the connection with the Tanning Industry.
At least the Council is transparent about its funding: unlike many other organizations I can think of.
They also do not produce false-positives about their products (unlike pharmaceutical companies).

John, this has nothing to do with "agendas" or surreptitious activities by a subvert organization hell-bent on destroying the health of Millions, as the Pharmaceutical Companies are doing, and have been doing for decades with in-pocket researchers.

BUT, it has everything to do with education and awareness: a rare form of altruism and philanthropy that most people are unable to fathom in an age of capitalism, greed and selfishness.

The studies quoted here are independently funded for the most part. I suggest you read this and discover that for yourself.........

The Vitamin D Council has been mainly acting as a clearing house and collecting agency of studies from Independent Vitamin D researchers, both past and present.

Ensuring future customers for Big Pharma from overdosing on Vitamin D? is false-speculation, conjecture, and NOT based on the actual scientific-evidence.

Be very careful though John when you next give full-body exposure to the rays of the Sun: when your skin begins to turn pink, it will provide you with between 20,000ius to 50,000ius of Vitamin D3, and you may just suffer the consequences of overdosing yourself!!
