My taxes pay for a lot of services that keep our society running, hospitals, schools, roads, libraries, power and water, the upkeep of national parks, garbage collection, police, fire brigades, telecomunications, social security for those in need, and many more services that benefit our entire country. Yes , there are things that I don't support, that my taxes pay for, but it is up to me then, to vote for the people who are most aligned with my own views.

I can understand the arguments put forward to not pay taxes, to support what we may not agree with, but in reality these noble ideals are not usually why people don't want to pay tax. The main reason people don't want to pay tax, is because they want to keep their money for themselves, but they still want all the services that the taxes of others pay for, they just don't want to pay their share.

This may not be a popular sentiment among those who rail against the taxation of citizens, but it is as valid as those arguments.
