Seek2clean, do you believe there is a better way to govern a country other than democracy, as you currently have? One that you could have respect for.
I believe in taking a stand on principle, but what I don't agree with is expecting others, who may not hold the same principles that I do, to wear the fallout of any decision I make. If I decided to stop paying taxes, for the reason that I don't agree with what they are spent on, I would indeed be fined and probably jailed, this may be fine as far as I'm concerned, but the decision would also greatly effect my loved ones, and serve no usefull purpose in the long term. I believe there are other ways to protest.
I see a lot of people on these forums spouting about standing up to the government (I'm not talking about you personally here), criticising the current government, whining and complaining about the situation their country is in, but none of them appear to be actually 'doing' anything about it.
I wonder if any of those who think its a good idea not to pay taxes, would be willing to go to jail, or face the fines, for not paying. Or is it all more hot air.
