Re: I am pondering trauma as a universal cause of cancer

Yes, thousands of years ago there was stress but it was very different than today. As you suggested, predators attacked, wars were waged, etc. But people died a lot younger back then too. Some credible websites suggest mid 30's to late 40's for the average life expectancy around Jesus' time. So maybe they didn't live long enough to see the effects of diseases like cancer that take time to present themselves. Or maybe they died of cancer much more often than they knew since Science was in it's infancy back then.

Today, however, not only are we living longer but the stresses we live with are very different. Living in a world where we are constantly bombarded with advertising that tells us we're not quite good enough...attending schools systems that tell us we HAVE to do this and be good at that or there's something wrong with us....being FORCED by government to fund (through taxes) the killing of innocent people in far-away lands....the list of stresses that are thrust upon us, out of our control, and never ending...are, well, endless.

That's not to say that there aren't millions of people who handle it all very well but it may explain why our incidence of cancer is so much higher today.

That's also not to negate the effects of toxins in our world. They may very well exasperate emotional situations that our bodies would normally easily handled on its own.

I am not a practitioner of anything. I am only a truth-seeker. So I don't know anything about German New Medicine. But I have to admit, I am intrigued.
