Re: Candida Overgrowth Diagnosis?

Thanks - good to know. I am not surprised to find it is rare. I am type 1 diabetic for almost 40 years and have a genetic liver defect, so may have something to do with my immunity? When I detoxed, I went through about a month of waking up in the middle of the night, gasping for breath and coughing, having to go into the bathroom (so as not to disturb sleeping hubby) where I would sit on the edge of the tub, taking puff after puff of my asthma rescue inhaler, just so I could begin to get a little oxygen in so I would not pass out, all the while this bright white foamy, metalic tasting stuff would expel itself from my lungs. After about 45 minutes I could breathe well enough to lay down again. After a couple hours I'd awaken and the whole process would start again. I was so happy when it finally stopped. Before that, my asthma, which I had had in childhood but outgrown, but had returned as part of the whole lovely candida package of symptoms, was getting worse and worse. Whatever came out of me then was such a relief!
