Secondly, wikipedia is not a credible end source for
verifying credentials or anything else for that matter. It is an open source (any one can edit info) site.

His credentials are not fake. The award he won (peer reviewed) is verifiable. I learned of him from a top notch journalist who is not a light weight.

Even if this guy wasn't peer reviewed, it doesn't mean he should be cast aside.
