Re: Newly Diagnosed...

About exercise - what I've found is that if I exercise (and I always considered myself an athelete) - it makes it a whole lot worse. Unfortuantely, I have gained weight, but more than that I am depressed and scared silly that I'll never be able to exercise again. It's so scary - I can't do anything without causing a fareup - even walking from my car to my office. Or - even driving - I feel like the UPS truck - I can only make right hand turns because turning left causes a whole lot of pain.

I'm off work now - I'm hoping that my doctor will see that I am in too much pain to continue on. I feel the best thing is to stay in bed - don't lift anything - not even a roll of toilet paper - do exercise, just lay there until maybe the muscle reattaches. This isn't a medical suggestion becasue I really don't know what will help - it's process of elimination for me - I've tried almost everything else.

I would not recomment chiropractic services - it can only make things worse. I did have one acupuncture session - no needles - just a consult. I haven't gone back because I can't see how more herbs can cure the muscle. I think it's mind over matter. the pain is real - and the tearing of the muscles is real. Doesn't it only make sense that we need to find a way to 'reattach" the muscle to the sternum and cartilage? Why can't modern medicine do this?
