Alzheimer's is caused by toxin buildup in the brain, this would include heavy metals and environmental toxins.

The cause of Alzheimer's is unknown. There are several hypotheses on it though. The most predominant is an aluminum build up in the brain. This is an old hypothesis was based on the finding of abnormally high aluminum contents in the brain of Alzheimer's patients.
