God is not "faith",...God is LOVE.

Since God is LOVE, our devotion must be based on...

1 Corinthians 13:13
"the GREATEST of these".

A "faith FOR faith" (Romans 1:17) enables us to have a "more excellent" devotion that is not...

...simply having the ability to believe something (faith).

I never heard of such a ridiculous statement that having a personal relationship with a loved one should be based on "obedience" and the ability to follow instructions.

Truly righteous people do not need to be forced/COMMANDED to do the right thing (in their mind, there simply is no option other than the right thing)...that is why some people only understand the need to "obey" (and they think of it as LOVE), but others (righteous, pure/contrite heart AND MIND) have no need for "instructions" that must be "obeyed".

Romans 12:2
"be transformed by the renewal of THE MIND".

Did your wife give you a list of rules, beej?

Did she give you a book and tell you that she would be disappointed if you don't do everything according to the instructions?

Did you ever give her a book of instructions?

Is that what would please you? (compliance).

Do you have any idea what LOVE really is?

Do you somehow believe that you should love the bible? (the bible cannot love you back, beej).

Of course, YOU feel a need to SHOW God love because your way of devotion just doesn't display and exhibit evidence that you DO love Him.

Do you also salute your wife and wear a 'wife love' uniform?

Do you also have a NEED to SHOW love to your kids because they don't KNOW that you love them?

...God is LOVE (and we should TRULY understand what love REALLY is for a true devotion, a "more excellent"/intimate devotion/relationship).
