Something to think about.
I've recently been reading a book on the problem of scientific illiteracy in America, (we have this same problem in Australia, but to a lesser degree). It makes a good argument about having at least a basic knowledge of the various sciences, so that we can be able to think critically about what we learn fron
Science reports in the media, and so we can better be able to distinguish between good
Science and junk (psuedo) science.
This has a great bearing on being able to understand how the body works, so that we can make informed choices on health care, and remedies. Then we don't have to rely on the word of people who may have agendas that have nothing to do with health, such as some doctors, and drug companies.
There are no grey or fuzzy areas in the
Science of biology, this does not mean that there are not differences in how individuals react to certain things, these differences are recognised variables in the science of biology. This is where the junk science of the theory that acidity is the cause of all disease, is just flat out wrong. This theory is not a grey area of scientific debate, its not a little bit correct, the assumption that acidity causes all disease, is wrong!!!!!
Science is continually evolving and growing, and the best way that we can understand this, and not be afraid of science, is to learn about it.
