Re: Dogs' spirits
See if you can reach Heidi during meditation. If you do ask her to return. When I had to put Bogart down because of renal failure, (he just did not want to deal with the sub-cue fluid treatments and would hide from me) the vet put him with us in an exam room, wrapped up in a nice heated towel. I was able to say good bye to him. The last thing I said to him before the vet came in was "you come back to me". He died in August and in December, we found an dirty, cold kitten, about 11-12 weeks old underneath the hood of my husbands car sitting on the engine.
I found Bogart in a beat-up old abandoned car next to my car in the parking lot of my apartment more than 10 years earlier. He was covered in motor oil and grease, it took 3-4 bathings with Murphy's oil soap to get him clean. In the process of bathing, he lost the very tip of his tail that was hanging on by a piece of dead skin. I named him Bogart because he had a torn ear, a scar above his nose, he was black as night and sweet as pie. Humphrey Bogart played shady characters with a heart who always got into fights. I thought it was the perfect name.
Anyway, we named the kitten that we found on the engine of my husband's car, Max. He was covered in motor oil and grease and the very tip of his tail, although not missing, was deformed and shaped like a hook.
So, I firmly believe that Bogart came back to me too as Max. The timing and the similarities to me are just too many for me to believe otherwise.
