The product is patented so its not possible to get the formula, this means there is no way of knowing (unless you get inside information) as to whether this product could be harmfull or not. Basically you are relying on the manufacturers claims of its bioavailability and effectivness.
I have never seen Jarro-Sil before, but Bio-Sil is stabilized orthosilic acid. I found that if it sits for a year or so that it gels up. The DE reacts with water forming orthosilicic acid. Being that it stays in contact with the water orthosilicic acid remains all the time. So I see no real benefit to pay a lot more for a product like Bio-Sil when the DE and water do the same thing.
