Re: How can I improve my absorption of nutrients?

I've been thinking about this alot this past week, and wanted to have a discussion with Hver about the fair trial I did using the Grape bitters, and lecithin. Not in the way of arguing, but because of what I have experienced personally.

I have no gallbladder. When it was removed 3 years ago, there were no stones in it, the gallbladder was only functioning at 5%. I know from reading other posts of Hver's, that he also doesn't think parasites are much of a problem, besides what he is repeating here about that Liver Flushes don't get stones out of the liver.

I think what Telman posted on the Liver Flush Forum , along with doing some more of my own research, I have finally discovered the right combination of what I have been probably been lacking for some time with my bile, and for my liver not working as it should have been.

I was told by the ND, that because of not having a gallbladder, that I was going to have to be on bile salts (ox-bile) the rest of my life, to make up for what was normally done with a gallbladder. I now, finally, understand more about how the bile acids work--but what he didn't also tell me was that the bile also has to have the choline. It's been like people have only said bits and pieces, like Hver telling me that the Grape bitters, and Lecithin were all I needed. That has proven to not be correct for me either. Yes, I need the choline...but WITH the ox-bile, not JUST the choline.

In the scientific/medical stuff that Telman gave me the information for, if there is a deficiency with the ox-bile (bile salts), and/or the choline, the cholestrol is not emulsified, and starts clumping together to form the stones..and it takes as little as 3 days. Without a doubt, and maybe it takes feeling it first-hand to know what the heck I'm talking about- but I have KNOWN when there have been stones IN my liver that have to come out. It feels like I have gravel in there- and they are not small things either.

The problem wasn't with my gallbladder- the problem has been with my liver. What I NOW know, is that the deficiency I've probably had for some time with the right combination of the bile salts, and choline, has been the cause of the cholestrol coagulating and blocking up my bile ducts, so the bile isn't getting the toxins out as it should be, and there is no doubt that the cholestrol has been continually forming stones in my liver.

In all seriousness...the Grape bitters stimulating the bile- HURTS when the bile ducts are blocked off with stones!! And the lecithin without the bile salts, did NOT stop the stones from forming in there.

But, after having to do Liver Flushes weekly because of my chronically hurting, plugged up liver-- whatever Hver thinks these things are, or aren't, definetly give my liver relief in getting them out of there!!-- at least for a day.

This past week, because of finally figuring out how it all has to work together in the right combination-- I have been taking the ox-bile, with the phosphatylcholine, and also with the pancreatin enzymes with the lipase that also works on the fat--plus the taurine and glycine that is also needed by the liver--

and within just one week of taking them faithfully, 3x a day (preferrably before meals), I did a Liver Flush just to see if there was a difference- and for the first time in 2 years of liver flushing- I had NO stones, and I have not felt them in my liver.

The other thing that I had to figure out for myself- is that alot of the herbs/supplements that I have been taking (which are also in the Grape bitters too), have a warning that go with them, that say "do not take this if you have an allergy to ragweed"...that includes the milk thistle, and artichoke and goldenseal, and artemisia that I've been taking to "stimulate bile", that I now have a pretty good idea were causing more problem with my liver because of hitting it with herbs all this time that have caused it more inflammation problems from sensitivities/allergens.

One thing that I am starting to have more and more of an impatience with through-out CZ, is that "one shoe fits all" attitudes, and the mind-sets that everyone is all in the exact same boat. Because of my liver not working well for what I'm sure has been for some time now..I definetly found myself with a MAJOR parasite problem. I do, now, understand that IF the bile has the right combination to begin with, and is working right without the stagnation/coagulation problem, and toxins backing up in the liver--that healthy bile doesn't allow the environment that would allow the parasites/candida etc to get ahead like it did with me having a sick, backed-up liver.

I'll see as time goes on, whether I've finally gotten the right combination to get my liver working on track or not, but no--the Grape Bitters for me, did not work.

One other thing that also proved to me how important Liver Flushing has been, was the definite differences that showed in two marker blood tests the Alternative Dr had me do. My liver enzymes had stayed chronically elevated for months before the gallbladder surgery- and when I started with the Alternative stuff one year after gallbladder surgery- my liver enzymes were still chronically elevated. Triglycerides were elevated, LDL was above the reference range, and HDL was lower than it should have been. And my liver HURT! To the point that I literally could not ride in a vehicle.

But, the significant changes that took place within 8 months of the first marker test to the 2nd one--was also very significant. And, the ND had had me doing nothing more than bowel cleansing, parasite killing, and Liver Flushing (which is also part of his protocal). There is no doubt that I was in bad shape when I started with the Alternative Dr. He would tell you that, and so would my husband. Killing a major load of parasites that were plugging up my liver, plus Liver Flushing regularly, I would tell anybody, (including doubters like Hver that don't believe liver flushing gets stones out)- that my life was literally saved. It wasn't just my liver that was in bad shape.

These were the results I posted after the 2nd marker blood test. I need to get another copy of it from the ND for the differences in the numbers for the liver stuff, but it all, finally, came down to within the normal range..after spending thousands of dollars on Dr's tests that couldn't figure out why I was in the shape I was in. They never would have found the core causes!

>>THIS blood test, my liver enzymes were good, cholestrol and triglycerides well within the normal range, C reactive protein way down- from being over the high end of 3.0 down to .58. Fibrinogen was a big improvement- from being over the high end past 423 down to the normal range of 274. (193-423 scale)>>>

Would just taking Grape bitters and lecithin have done the same thing? As plugged up as my liver was- trying to stimulate the bile with the bitters, would have been a bad idea. So, no, "one shoe does NOT fit all".

There's alot of other cofactors to go with all of this, but there was a very significant change that took place with killing the parasites, flushing the liver- proven by the blood tests too.

Heavy metals are definetly one of the things involved with the liver being sick to begin with--but other cofactors as well.
