Oral Thrush - does it get worse before it gets better?
Hi. In recent months I've noticed certain symptoms that could be due to Candida and/or "leaky gut". Even more recently than that (within the past 3 or 4 weeks), I've noticed increased tooth-demineralization/tooth-decay due to increased plaque - possibly/probably due to some imbalance of "flora" within my mouth (oral thrush). Well, within the past few days, I've started probiotics (NSI "10-20" brand) - right now, I'm only taking half of the recommended dose (I'm working my way up to the recommended 2-capsule daily dose).
Well, it seems that within the past few days, I've experienced a worsening of my oral thrush symptoms - today, it seems worse than ever. Here I am, trying to eat reasonably well...taking probiotics - and my oral thrush seems to only be worsening. Is it because the health of my mouth is now "dependent" on probiotics - or is it a situation where the probiotics are actually making things worse? When taking things like probiotics to deal with Candida/oral thrush - do things get worse before they get better?
If things are simply getting worse (with no improvement in sight) - are there any reasons why the probiotics don't seem to be helping? Maybe I started on too high of a dose? (1 capsule contains 10 strains of probiotics at 10 billion CFU - allegedly - and 100mg of fructooligosaccharides.) Is there something that I need to be doing in addition to taking probiotics to make things better?
