Hi Missy, although its good to have a squat toilet, sitting in squatting position outside the bathroom is simply a good exercise ( yoga pose) which opens the pelvis and facilitates the evacuation of bowels. Sit in that pose for 5-10 minutes . Or longer if you can handle it. I usually try to read a book, or watch TV while squatting and it feels good. Sometimes if I am feeling heavy in the abdomen, I pass gas in this pose and then feel better. LOL
BTW this yoga pose is called Mal-asana. Mal is a hindi word for impurities. Sitting in this pose facilitates the removal of impurities from the intestines.
Of all the yoga poses that I have tried, this one works best for constipation removing the "mal" from intestines.
