Re: Ummmmm....
I respect your desire to be nieve, but it scares me to death. PUtting faith and trusting in the government is foolish. Countries that do that are Iraq, Iran and all the countrys that have the big problems.
I did run for office. I was third party candidate for Congress in 2002. you need to understand how our failed system works. Our political leaders are whores (I called them that to their face in a debate) All they do is get money from campaign contributors, then when elected, the people that contributed the money write the bills and your officials sponsor them. Sometimes without even reading them. Once elected, their only job is to get re-elected, and to do that, they need to make sure that they screw over the tax payers for the benifit of the big business that gave to their campaign.
Our political leaders hope that people like you will not educate themselves and continue to vote for them out of trust so they can continue to live in luxury, while our freedoms diminish.
The unfortunate thing, is that the people that do pay attention, are so sickened by the two major parties, that they don't even vote. I used to think it was because they were lazy, running for office I found out different.
If a major campaign contributor (oil) company insisted on a war for their benifit, George Bush would do it in a heart beat, no questions asked. He needs money for his 2004 campaign.
