Re: Folliculitis suffered for 5 months. Finally an improvement with MMS
Hello #113931,
There are actually two different technologies at work here...
Sodium chlorite is a stable way to transport chlorine dioxide. The concentration of the sodium chlorite solution is related to the amount of available chlorine dioxide present. A 5% solution has 50000 PPM available chlorine dioxide. A 28% solution has 280000 PPM available chlorine dioxide.
However,
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement is a 28% by weight solution that is made from 80% technical grade sodium chlorite powder. This means that it actually has 224000 PPM available chlorine dioxide and is a 22.4% solution.
The two technologies are chlorine dioxide technology and acidified sodium chlorite technology.
In chlorine dioxide technology you are interested in immediately releasing all of the available chlorine dioxide from the solution. HCl, in the proper concentration, does this.
In acidified sodium chlorite technology, you are interested in releasing some of the available chlorine dioxide, and keeping some in reserve to replenish the chlorine dioxide that is used up in the application. In this case, different results can be obtained by using different acids, and different concentrations of those acids.
When taking a bath, or purifying water, the goal is for immediate results. This means that chlorine dioxide technology is the best way to go. Contrast this with sanitation of a work counter where it is nice to kill off the bacteria, and have a small residual to keep working for a few hours after the initial wipe or spray down. This is where acidified sodium chlorite technology fits in.
When you pull the plug in the bath tub, you are finished with the solution, and don't need any more chlorine dioxide in it. On the other hand, the reason the sanitization solution keeps working for 4 weeks is that any free chlorine dioxide that is lost to the air is replaced from available chlorine dioxide held in the chlorous acid solution.
As far as skin care goes, it is better to use acidified sodium chlorite technology so you have some reserve to continue to battle the bacteria over a period of time. Chlorine dioxide technology will work immediately, but it doesn't last over time.
I am not sure Jim Humble did any testing on his skin care protocol, but it is a very strong solution that is strong enough to bleach. Let's take a look at it.
First we have to take a little side track...
Sodium chlorite solutions are only about 60% effective at releasing the chlorine dioxide stored in them. This means that the 50000 PPM of the 5% solution actually is only capable of producing 30000 PPM. In a similar fashion, the 22.4% solution is only capable of 134400 PPM.
20 drops of
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement activated and put in 2
ounces of water will give you a solution with a concentration of about 2600 PPM available chlorine dioxide and with the
Miracle-Mineral-Supplement type activation you will end up with about 520 PPM as free chlorine dioxide.
In contrast, the solution I use has 600 PPM available and 60 PPM free chlorine dioxide.
The high concentrations used by Jim Humble can actually cause stinging and irritate the skin.
The paper you linked is interesting. Since chlorine dioxide can destroy flora, caution should be observed when taking MMS or using MMS in an enema.
