Re: Tom, This skin solution, what else can it be used for?
Hello Squarecurls,
The caution with this solution is that it is acidic. If you spray it on and let it evaporate, there is no problems, but if you soaked a cotton ball in it and taped it to your skin and left it there for several hours, you skin would most likely complain.
I put this solution into a spray bottle and use it for general sanitation. I spray bathroom surfaces, kitchen surfaces, and it is very good at removing odors from the refrigerator, freezer, garbage can, and left over objectionable kitchen odors after cooking. On a hot sweaty day, you can also wipe down your underarms with it and hold that odor in check. You can also use it to sanitize hair brushes, combs, and tooth brushes.
It is also a great way to hold mold and mildew in check after removing it. I frequently spray some in the shower to keep the mold and mildew from starting.
After working in the yard I will spray a rinse on my arms and hands. I have found that cuts, scrapes, and puncture wounds just heal without becoming infected in the process.
If your dog has an ear infection, it can help with that too...

You can also buffer the PH of this solution and use it in a fogger to deal with reoccurring mold and mildew in a basement or garage or crawl space. If you spill something like milk in your car, you clean it up, then spray the area with this solution and all odors will be eliminated, even with the car in the sun and the windows rolled up.
You have to keep an eye on your spray bottle. The chlorine dioxide will react with the plastic and cause it to become brittle and crack. This dumps the remaining solution out, so I keep my bottle in a zip loc bag. The bottle is good for several months, but when you notice that it is not as pliable as it once was, you are near the end of life for that bottle.
I could go on and on, but as you can see it is a very useful solution to have around the house.
Tom
