I would also stay a long way from refined and heated oils; type
rapeseed, soy, cottonseed,margarine etc. I believe that the tiny blood vessels to the eye are the most effected of these oils; they turn to a gluey substance after a while in body temperature / oxygen rich environment. The body have to use a lot of it anti oxidants as selenium to take care of these oils.
I would perhaps go for a good omega 3 source; maybe krill or a good fish oil in this case; as it is anti inflammatory + some turmeric for the same reason;
'The retina has one of the highest concentrations of omega-3 fatty acids in the body,' explains eye expert Kip Connor. 'We found that just a 2% increase in the amount of omega-3 in the diet could reduce damage to the retina by up to 50%.' http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/antenna/omega3/
