Re: Doctor convince my G/F that the Mirena oisn't the cause of her mood swings.

Hi wandjmom,

Thankyou for your advice. You mentioned a lot so if you don't mind I'll quote so I don't miss anything and waste your efforts in responding.

"Does she have any girlfriends she is close to and could talk to?"

She does. One said "it's just bad timing", another said it's all good, your just stressed. Its to the point now she has back flipped on our relationship so much that she is frightened to tell her parents about our weekend toghether and her friends to a large degree.

"Maybe you could give them a call and ask them to help."

Thanks, but I'm just in that circle. As I said, we don't live together, so this would be seen as an intrusion I'm sure.

"maybe she could get in to see a Dr. sooner"

My company has given me 3 free counselling sessions. I maanged to make the appointments for her next Monday, then every Tue after that. She thanked me. On Monday she said that she didn't want to take up the offer, as she believed that she needs more than 3. So 1 Jun is the soonest she could get in to see one that she could aford.

"You may want to do a little checking on St. Johns Wort (herb) and chamomile tea. I've read it is good for our mood swings and over all well being. Just a thought."

Thanks. However I fear that the time for this was 3 weeks ago. After our 90 min call yesterday, there is no longer any contact. I feel that if I keep making contact to give her little bits of well intentioned advice here and there she will get resentful towards me.

"Has she been looking here herself?"

I sent her links to this site last Nov. She agreed then it was a possibility.

""If it's affecting the quality of your life you should take it out. Never know until we do""

I agree totally.....now, here's the really annoying bit. She has a Dr who is a great friend. A dr who believes that the Mirena is a bad thing and advises against it. She didn't go to him because he is such a great family Dr / friend that she didn't want to open her legs for him.

Wandjmom, thanks again for taking the time to write and suggest some good ideas. I just don't know what to do next, other than wait.
