Brain fog 24/7 :(
Hi everyone.
I have been suffering from fainting attacks since January and brain fog 24/7 since February.
One day I nearly fainted. I didn't think much of it, but then it happened the next week. After that, I began having near-fainting attacks often. The only things that consistently helped were lying down or getting fresh air. Also, large quantities of cinnamon or meat helped temporarily.
When this happened I gave up all caffeine and alcohol. I thought I was getting better but then a few weeks later, I had a half cup of DECAF and my body COMPLETELY FREAKED OUT. I got lightheaded, I found it very difficult to swallow, my throat felt like it was going to eat itself alive, and I had hot flashes all over. This lasted for 7+ hours. I have been a moderate caffeine drinker before this (3/4 cups/wk) and have never had and problems before.
The next day I walked by a pot of brewing coffee at school and my body reacted as if I would have walked by a pot of brewing chemicals. It was after this that the 24/7 brain fog started. Also, I developed an intolerance to ANY sort of caffeine, even chocolate. It was so bad that if I put a piece of chocolate on my tooth, my body would go into shock. Any amount of table
Sugar at all, even 1/4 of a teaspoon would send my body into shock.
I went to the doctor and an ENT specialist and they found nothing. My blood panel was completely normal. Just to be safe I had them to a 2 hour glucose tolerance test for diabetes and I came out fine (after 2 hrs my level was 89.)
I completely changed my regimen and diet since then. I thought I ate healthy before but now I eat 90+% organic. I cut processed foods out entirely. I cut refined carbs and refined sugars out entirely, and eat any sort of
Sugar (raw honey, date sugar) only minimally. I get 3-4 days of moderate/vigorous exercise. I also started taking Eleotin to regulate blood
Sugar and Colonix and Toxinout to cleanse my system. Additionally I am taking Magnesium Citrate, Chromium, Chlorella, and Milk Thistle daily.
At the beginning, the entire day was unbearable. After awhile, I became okay in the mornings and in the evenings but the middays were still unbearable. Recently, I've started feeling funny in the mornings again.
Now I can have small amounts of green tea or chocolate and I'm fine. I have not dared sip any sort of coffee. But I've still had the never-ending brain fog. Sometimes it's better than other times but it's still there. It flares up pretty bad when I have too much of any sort of carb. I also get lightheaded occasionally. I have never gotten dizzy as far as I can remember.
I have talked to some people and one thing that keeps on coming up is adrenal fatigue. But I have a feeling there are more things going on. Am I doing the right things?
