Re: Can oral magnesium supplemenation stimulate candida growth?

Did you take magnesium citrate for an extended period with little or no candida symptoms (bloating etc)? Just trying to separate your probable positive response to magnesium from any candida growth. For example, I was recently feeling better on transdermal magnesium in spite of probable candida growth (bloating). It was a little surreal. I was experiencing brain fog (fuzzy thinking, memory problems) but moodwise didn't really care because I felt good.

I realise your magnesium deficiency symptoms are different from mine, but do you understand what I am getting at? Are you sure your candida did not get worse while on magnesium citrate, or did you just assume (quite reasonably I would say) that the candida must be under control because you were feeling so much better?

I see this as a possible explanation for why people with candida continue to take magnesium even while it may be inhibiting their recovery from candida. They feel better for the magnesium, and they assume that magnesium therefore must be improving their candida situation.

I'm not saying this was the case with you Ladywear. Just explaining the logic behind my query. I do not have a fixed position on this issue, still trying to gather information.
