Re: Can oral magnesium supplemenation stimulate candida growth?

"But if magnesium supplementation is actually making candida overgrowth worse then why would one take it"?

My doctor after doing red cell magnesium level tests told me I was that deficient in magnesium (infact one of the lowest readings she had ever seen in CFS) that I was risking serious heart problems/complications. This worries me far more than candida overgrowth and is far more dangerous for me to be low in magnesium than cut out yet another nutrient or food that supposidly promotes the growth of candida. I was told that people who have heart attacks are severely low in magnesium and one of the first things they give them when they get admitted to A & E is magnesium sulphate. People with candida are low in magnesium - why would I take it ? Well I dont want to risk heart attacks, palpitations or any other heart disease/complications. That is very frightening! Candida depletes iron levels but apparantly taking supplemental iron also increases candida growth - so I cut that out and what happens I get fainting attacks because I am so severely anemic. What do I do - still cut out the iron because its feeding my candida or continue to keep passing out risking serious injury rather than take iron? In my experience it doesnt matter what I cut out whether that be supplements or foods - the candida is still living off "me" not my foods and supplements. I think the focus of this is all wrong..it shouldnt be about whats "feeding" the candida - we should be looking at why we have it in the first place?
