There are really two questions.. One, did you make your brother gay..and two, was your behaviour inappropriate. To answer the first question...No, in all likelihood you didn't make your brother gay. I have known enough gay people to feel strongly about that. But in terms of the second question... yes it was completely inappropriate behaviour. It very well may have been innocent at the time, but what longterm effect(s) did it have on him? Maybe none at all...but maybe it has scarred him. And I can't tell you which it is. Should you talk about it with him now? I have no idea. I am not an "expert" in such matters. But it is something you should think long and hard about. Not necessarily about what his sexuality has become, but about what you may have done to him in other ways. Abuse is abuse. And kids should not be made to dry hump their sisters. At any age.

What is done is done. What you should do from here on out is anyone's guess. My gut reaction is that males seem to "go with the flow" better with these matters then females, but everyone is different and there are some pretty sensitive males out there. In terms of your pennance, it is commendable that you are owning up to it. If anything, it is probably you who should be using this episode as a catalyst to better your own life. Tweet
