Update:

The Vet gave Rico a clean bill of health today. No signs of infection or irritation, and it appears that Rico's eardrums have grown back. Everything looks clean and good.

Since Rico hasn't gone for very long between infections, he suggested another visit in a couple of months, or perhaps more.

This is very good news.

Rico is having a lot of fun, and seems to be full of energy and basically care free. He even went swimming last weekend. Things seem to be back to normal for him.
