True Hunger...
Ok I just read chapter XXIV "Hunger and Appetite"
from the Hygienic System.
True hunger is felt in the mouth and throat.
So is true thirst.
When you begin a fast people say the first 3 days are the hardest because you have to get thru the hunger discomfort
and gnawing in the stomach.
Ok hunger is not felt in the stomach it is in the mouth and throat.
Its not weakness nor headache, dizziness etc it is not discomfort of the stomach it is felt in the mouth and throat.
What I am wondering here is if one truly fasts to completion where the tongue is clear and true hunger is felt in the mouth and throat...
Is it possible to continue youre life with this true hunger sensation and eat ONLY when true hunger is present?
What I am trying to say is is it possible to learn true hunger and ONLY eat when it is felt?
Also I wonder how many times a day would it be felt?
Perhaps it isnt felt on a daily basis and we do not need as much food as human nature and
Science says we need?
Perhaps if we lived by true hunger sensations and ONLY ate just enough food to satisfy the true hunger I feel certain we do not need much food.
I have said on other forums that the LESS I eat the BETTER I feel, which is why when I fast I have more energy then I do when I am feeding.
I am really starting to feel we do not need this "2000" calorie a day diet the food and drug set as the daily allowance.
I really feel we only need to eat when the body asks for food(true hunger) and only then we should eat, not because we want to.
We are addicted to condiments and sugar, as well as taste and desire.
I will personally admit I eat because of food addiction and that being TASTE.
When Im fasting I am constantly fantasising of food and wanting to eat SIMPLY because I like to eat.
I feel this all starts when we are infants.
When the baby cries what do we as parents do?
We give the baby a bottle!
if the baby refuses the bottle we put chocolate in the milk
and the baby gobbles it up.
I didnt do that much with my kids but sometimes I did.
Also when the baby is in the high chair and you give it a spoonfull of something, the baby spits it out, apparently the babies senses are rejecting that particular food you are trying to feed it.
What do we do? We keep trying to give it the food and the baby keeps rejecting it, thus we are trying to force feed the child.
We can learn alot from a baby!
I will stop here because this could get quite long but I just want to know simply if we can learn "true hunger" felt in the throat and mouth, can we learn once again to eat when it is felt and ONLY when it is felt?
Also is there anyone here who has felt true hunger and do you eat when you feel it and if so how often is it felt and have you found you eat far less food by eating according to true hunger?
Thanks !
