Re: Thanks - I stand corrected.
Hey - when someone points out something that is amiss I am more than happy to correct it. And you are quite right about calcium, it is an essential. Given the role that magnesium plays it would really be sinful for someone to supplement with calcium while remaining deficient in magnesium.
The more research that comes in from reliable sources (meaning not industry funded for the most part), the more the evidence mounts that ALL minerals have vital parts to play, including the often overlooked trace minerals. And the more we continue to process the minerals and other nutrients out of our food, often replacing them with sythetics and other largely lesser bioavailable forms if at all, and the more we continue to over-farm and destroy soil micro-organisms, the more the deficiencies spread. Add to that the toxins we spew into our environment and inject via vaccines or injest via lab-created drugs and other chemical additives, and the increasing use of GMO crops and now animals, radiation of foods and supplements . . . and you have a big part of the picture of our declining health.
In an ideal world, we would get almost all of the nutrients we need from our diet and a properly functioning body would take what it needed and pass on the rest. We don't live in an ideal world and our bodies are not properly functioning when they are deficient for any length of time in minerals and other vital nutrients; instead the body adjusts for the deficiencies and operates in abnormal ways in order to survive - but at a cost in long term health.
