Re: Thanks - I stand corrected.
Yes oxygen does refresh. And thanks for the compliment, but I only repeat what the experts like Warburg have been telling us for years.
More on the relationship between calcium and other alkalizing minerals.
POTASSIUM, CALCIUM, AND SODIUM RELATIONSHIPS
In any healing process, it is important to that proper MINERALIZATION be set in place first. The minerals are the ALKALIZERS of the body cells. Potassium, Calcium, and Sodium are the major players. The other minerals that are important are Magnesium, Iron, Copper, and Zinc. These will be discussed in a future newsletter.
Even though we are discussing individual minerals here, it is much better to supply these minerals from a NATURAL food source. Nutritional Supplements and other formulas should only be applied after all natural food sources are in use.
POTASSIUM and SODIUM
All cells have their own cycle of breathing. They expand and contract. A Potassium dominant health profile, or a Sodium dominant health profile can have far reaching effects on the expansion and contraction cycles of the cell. By studying the following chart you can see that the process of cell respiration (oxidation and reduction) must be impartial to both sides. If this cycle is in excess on one side, it spells out degeneration of the cell. The constant change from one side to the other side insures the efficient operation as a cell.
When the cells have too much Potassium they become over-expanded. When the cells have too much Sodium they are over-contracted. Also the BIORHYTHM cycle of the cell is disturbed.
You can find out the quantities of Potassium and Sodium in all of the foods, as well as any other minerals and vitamins by researching any health book that lists the nutritional composition of foods. I suggest that you obtain such a book for referencing the Potassium/ Sodium ratios.
The tissues in the body contain a Potassium/Sodium ratio approximately 3 to 1. In other words, there exists 3 times the amount of Potassium in comparison to Sodium by weight. For example, a food group that has 4 times as much Potassium in comparison to 1 part of Sodium by weight, is considered to be POTASSIUM DOMINANT. Conversely, when a food group shows a ratio of 2 parts of Potassium in comparison to 1 part of Sodium, it is considered to be a SODIUM DOMINANT food.
The first items on the Potassium-Sodium chart below are explained by a law of bio-chemistry. POTASSIUM has the capability of displacing SODIUM out of the body. That is, when a Potassium dominant health plan is employed, Sodium will be leaving the body. This explains why the blood pressure will eventually lower when the diet is Potassium dominant and the intake of Sodium foods are reduced. When the blood pressure is low, and when the diet being used is Potassium dominant, be ready to add, or change to a health plan dominant in Sodium foods. When the diet is too high in Potassium, weakness or tiredness is usually the result, and the blood pressure becomes lower. If you are a vegetarian for a long time, the addition of
Sea Salt will insure yourself of having enough Sodium, and abundant chlorine in the sea weeds will supply the necessary stomach hydrochloric acid that is needed for the initial stages of protein digestion. Irish Moss and Kelp are among the favorable seaweeds.
EFFECTS OF POTASSIUM AND SODIUM -
POTASSIUM
Displaces Sodium out of body
Dilates the tissues
Expands the cell
Increases effect of thyroid
Dilates pupils of the eyes
Increases tissue circulation
Relaxes tension
Increases nerve sensitivity
Increases skin activity
Increases speed and endurance
Increases white blood cells
Increases chances of bleeding
SODIUM
Diminishes effect of Potassium
Constricts the tissues
Contracts the cell
Increases effect of adrenals
Constricts pupils of the eyes
Increases blood volume
Exercises tissues
Increases nerve sensitivity also
Increases bowel activity
Increases power and strength
Increases red blood cells
Decreases bleeding
THE CALCIUM FACTORS
The role of Calcium interrelates with Potassium and Sodium.
1. It has the potential to REGULATE the body's correct use of Potassium and Sodium.
2. It has the quality of alkalyzing the body, depending on what it is combined with.
3. It can reduce bleeding and speed up healing of injuries.
4. When the body temperature is too high, Calcium can reduce the temperature to a point where over-acid conditions are checked or neutralized.
5. It will limit the possibility of Potassium pushing out too much Sodium in the cells.
6. It will have a calming affect on the central nervous system when relaxation is a must.
7. It is always a factor in the first stages of healing all processes. The
Science of Iridology proves this by observing Calcium lines appearing first in the Iris.
8. Calcium works with
Iodine to stabilize the immune system.
9. It has the quality of limiting pain responses. Note: Every try Calamine lotion on sun burns? It has remarkable effects.
