Re: Question about weight gain
Hey Dreamr, its too bad that this forum seems to be dead, I think it could really encourage lots of women to exercise if we could get it going with stories of success. I started walking in Spring of this year, I started out with a 17 minute mile. The reason I started walking is because a friend of mine told me about a brand of tennis shoes, MBT's, here is the link where I bought them.

I don't know if you've heard of them, my friend told me she has worn them for years and within a few weeks after she got them she noticed how much firmer her behind was. So I ordered a pair and started walking when I got them. I am overweight and have never done any kind of exercise so walking for me was really something (I have a long driveway and used to drive to the mailbox, Ha). Anyway, after about three weeks my husband asked me what I was doing to firm up my rear end! I hadn't told him I bought the shoes or that I was walking, well long story short, thats all it took for me to start walking even more. I bought a treadmill and started walking on it at night while still walking during the day outside. I got my mile down to just about 13 minutes after a while.
While I was walking I have never felt better, I had more energy and started losing weight, not to mention how much firmer I became much to my husbands delight :-) Then I went back to work (I am self-employed and can work when I want to) so naturally the walking fell by the wayside. After a couple of months working I noticed that the firmness was disappearing and I had no energy plus I started gaining weight again.
I just found this Website a few days ago (lucky me) a friend of mine told me that a coworker was
Water Fasting so I did a search and found my way here. I have decided to stay home for a while again so I'm going to try a
Water Fast after Thanksgiving or Christmas. In the meantime I decided to start walking again because I don't think I will be able to do it during the fast and I know I will feel better when I start.
Just wanted to say thank you for posting in this forum, maybe we can encourage each other with our exercise. Oh, and by the way, I am not in any way affiliated with MBT, just wanted to let you know that. I just tell everybody about them because they are so wonderful and comfortable once you get used to walking with no heel on your shoes. I also have noticed a reduction in my cellulite since I started wearing them. They are a bit pricey but worth every cent, I have 4 pairs now. The only thing I can find against the shoes is that I can't wear any other type of tennis shoes now because it feels like I'm walking on a plank of wood if I do.
Good luck with your exercise program, I think a gain in water weight when you first start exercising is normal, maybe thats what happened to you.
