Re: Fasting support for people with current / previous eating disorders

Chris, having looked into this a bit further I think that many people on the WF support forum have or have had eating disorders, and this is why we keep getting "repeat customers" as it were. I would have to agree that I suffered an ED for many years, though I had not looked at it like that before now. However I also think my problems were to do with so called "food" that we get dished out to us by the supermarkets, which is full of chemicals. Fortunately the fasting process helped me learn what a healthy Diet is, and I won't make that mistake again so easily!

I think something with support links ought to be added, maybe we could ask the Webmaster to add this when we think up a text. I'll work on that soon.

Probably an impartial text would be better that private messages. People with EDs may be very sensitive to personal help. Many are women, and the cause of their problems may be associated with men, and as a moderator as well perhaps that may be a red flag out to some people. I have become self conscious about this and welcome contributions by other people, especially women (though half the time I am never sure of a poster's gender, ha ha!)

However I do think we should uphold the curezone tradition of seeking out natural and alternative forms of treatment, drug free and cost free whenever possible, and definately help people with good healthy eating, as we do now on WF support.

I'll start knocking up a possible FAQ or something, though I think I will always be learning with this topic. I think some of the best people to advise are those who have overcome their EDs.
