Re: Suggestion for new "Self Sufficiency" or "Survivalist" forum

Yikes, you should know by now, I prefer not to
moderate...ggg. Please, do not consider me a
candidate. I would venture to guess there will
not be much need for moderation. No need to put
it in debate so I would imagine folks could find
some really good ideas and not be fighting about
the choices. :)

Hopefully it would be less political in nature
and more practical.

I like your plan B...people and empowerment and a way
to be with others of like mind. They need you as much
as you need them. With satellite eyes in the sky, it
is hard to "get lost" anymore. I had a run in with law
officials or someone who could ride in helicopters with
cameras and guns and fly six feet from the ground
pointing those cameras and guns at you just to let me
know that we were not so remote that they do not know
we were there. Fortunately, it did not escalate and
I imagine a closer look at our garden only proved that
we like eggplant and tomatoes etc. I was concerned that
they would "manufacture" a reason to shoot us. I called
someone on the telephone and told them if anything
happened, that was what was going down. Anyway, my thoughts
on your fantasy that you can lose yourself in the woods.

One of the benefits I feel about being here is that I
am around people who will use guns. I might if I have too,
but at the moment I cannot envision it. I know my neighbors
would not have that problem. AND we are close enough to a
town that if someone were going, we could still be connected
if things are in the realm of curfews and homeland security
BS or Martial Law and not so dire that we would not want
to include others in trade or helping.

Best wishes,
Zoe
