Re: Humaworm Shipping Update?
Don't I know it?!
When I went back to college a few years ago, we learned that 'foreign' students paid five times what we did!
Gulp!!!
And then there were textbooks! And more!
Have you considered collecting bottles and cans that are redeemable? Maybe with friends?
To begin with, go to the redeeming depot and stand there for a while, see what is going on, what to collect, and so on. (It's terrible noisy!)
Then collect, sort, count, and package, redeemables. There is an ocean of them out there!
The secret to success is tidiness...as well as courtesy.
You offer the community tidiness, in return for their few, or many, leftovers.
Plus, you have an admirable 'cause'...education. "Cans For Education" would be an attractive sign, and business card. "We Pick Up" would help, too.
Scrupulous honesty, and always being clean, no matter the age of your working clothes, are great bonuses.
Which student's mom would take phone calls for pick-ups for you...if she is at home anyway? And be sure to respond promptly, as convenient to the giver.
Offer your services to golf courses, for one example...giving them half of the take, if that's what they need...and tidiness...and courtesy...and regular service.
Split the earnings evenly among the students participating...which is good reason to begin with only two who appreciate each other and work together well.
It can be done by one, of course, but two pairs of hands and dedication makes the job go three times faster.
There are far more opportunities out there in the big wide world than we have ever dreamed.
Oh yes, get a pair of plastic or rubber-palmed gloves for each worker.
And pay something to the mom who takes phone calls for you. If she doesn't want cash, do her small services regularly.
I admire electical engineers. We know several. Good people all!
Good luck!
