Re: Air cleaners for MCS

Hi, Anon!

Even tho I have a technical background, I have been confused enough that I have not made a final decision as to which would be best. It is hard to get info from users rather than suppliers making their claims.

Think carefully about whether to get one big one or several small/er ones.

Do you need one in your vehicle? Bedroom? Rest of house?

If I recall correctly, some of the most promising I have seen so far were Austin Air, in the small size, for abt $299 each. I would generally recommend 2 or more small rather than one big one. The most important coverage id your bedroom and a backup that can be moved into the bedroom if the one in there quits.

I have not purchased one yet because I am in the process of ripping up carpet off my hardwood floors and steam cleaning the walls and floors. Until that is done, a HEPA would just clog up.

In a dirtier situation like mine, the air cleaners that operate by a combo of radio frequency and ozone without a filter are a better bet, unless you have asthma and cannot tolerate the ozone. They are much cheaper to run, and can be very cheap to purchase.

I use older model used Alpine Air filters. I have 4 of them, one for vehicles, 2 small and one double power. For a person who is knowledgeable, they can be repaired and self-serviced indefinitely. Two of mine were purchased for $25 through the local community want-add newspaper. The related new ones have lots of unnecessary electronic gadgetry and are expensive. They may not be as dependable as the old ones. I do not know.

I would love to hear back from you as to what you choose and how you like it. Posted in the MCS forum this might be of benefit to many!

Keep seeking abundant life and joy!

Di
