Re: Fluorescent light bulbs, Mercury, Adrenal Fatigue. I am in worse off shape. Warning this is long.

Hi, Anon!

Thanks for sharing your story!

I have a background in electrical construction and electronics, and yes, LED's are less likely to leak during use. I don't know whether there are toxic recycle or disposal issues with them. Another option during the day are reflective skylights if one owns one's home and can afford them. Fiber optics in combo with the above and solar would be awesome, but I do not know of any current usage of these, even off grid.

I have used compact fluorescent bulbs for about 20 years. My first ones were custom-made, very little like the newer styles. Since I have never broken one in the house, I have no idea how I would react. I had been gradually changing to the fluorescent with double housings, inner coils and an outer shell that looks like a large funny shaped incandescent bulb. They would be safer if one is going to use fluorescents. Sounds like you would not even want to risk that, though!!!

In your case, have you looked into the various kinds of desensitization, specifically for whatever is in you house??? Also, what is your diet like? Do you use a microwave? Have you eliminated toxic chemical products from your home, and especially from surfaces in contact with your food? How about your personal care products and clothes? How careful and co-operative are other members of your household? Every bit you remove from yr total load of toxins helps.

These two basic approaches to these situations, first working towards the safest possible diet, personal care products and surroundings, second targeted desensitization both serve to reduce one's total toxic load to the point where one will hopefully be able to gradually catch up on the backlog.

However, there are times when nothing seems to work. About 13 yrs ago, I had a "roommate from hell" who deliberately contaminated one room in my home with a perfume that was very toxic to me. I sealed the room off, but suffered a health setback just as you did. It took over three years to be able to tolerate that room, even though I gave away the expensive ergonomic chair and antique dresser that were directly contaminated with the fragrance.

I am so very grateful this incident was not worse. I now am very careful about allowing anyone into my home and no longer have roommates. I often wonder if I would be better off now if I had been in month to month rental housing instead of a single family detached home that I owned. Would I have been more willing to move immediately? Would I be better off now????
