"Like father, like son".
I had no ill intent or ulterior motive for writing what I did, and I was never under any delusion that it would be received well by anyone mindful of the end times.
Yet, your reaction to my post, Godspeak, was noticeably (understatement) kind and peaceful. You didn't even take encouragement from another person to react unkindly (because it is your nature to have The Lord's kingdom in your heart, "Like father, like son").
When someone truly LOVES another, they will be anxious/enthusiastic to particapate in their ways and endeavors. Likewise, if a person truly loves God, they will be anxious to participate in His ways and endeavors/intentions for humanity, but God is the only one who has the ability, power, and authority to effect such change and establish His reign.
The Zealots also wanted to establish a Godly [type] reign/kingdom, but ON EARTH (and so their enthusiasm became MILITANCY). There's an almost imperceptable line between enthusiasm and militancy that our "human limitations" simply cannot define properly, because no matter how much we lack insecurites and can establish ourself as an individual, HUMANITY consists of 'groups'.
When our participation in each others welfare is requested/invited, we should be enthusiastic to participate, but other than that, we are to be anxious for nothing (and simply REST in The Lord). We can have the ambition to accomplish things in life, but we must let The Lord's providence be His and not reduce/diminish the majesty of His greatness. We must not be "anxious"/feverishly worrying, He has it all under control (no matter how much we feel otherwise).
And he said to his disciples, "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat, nor about your body, what you shall put on".
Luke 12:25 "And which of you by being anxious can add a cubit to his span of life?"
Luke 12:26 "If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest?"
He does recognize that some will also have other pressing concerns, but He reminds us that those are "worldly" concerns.
The "greater thing could we do" that you ask, is to simply rest in The Lord and count His grace as sufficient for us (He would be pleased to know that we do).
The feeling that "God would like to see MORE out of us" stems from a good conscience and realizing that The Lord 'graciously' GAVE US "MORE" than we deserve, but it could only be philosophically thought that God expects anything IN RETURN (nullifying His utter and complete GRACIOUSNESS/grace). God never said that we should feel or believe that we should pay Him back, nor should we believe that it would be possible.
Acts 15:28 "lay upon you no greater burden than" what is necessary.
I will not outshine My Lord (I choose to DECREASE that He may INCREASE,...that HE, not I, will be glorified greatly).
"We can sit there and let God do all the work like FAITHFUL sheep" (yes, we CAN decide/choose to let HIM shine throughout all the universe, and to raise/praise HIM above the stars and the planets, and to glorify Him ABOVE ALL, it is not just "fine", it is a PRIVELEDGE).
We can choose to have the ambition to do "greater" things than some of the things Jesus did while He was on earth, but I choose to be only an ambassador of Christ, not to "outshine" Him.
Scripture does not "sell us short", we do, Our biased understandings of it ("INTERPRETAIONS") are what sell us short.
