Thank you, Soulful. I checked out some of the traits/signs of a narcissist; he certainly has some of them. But he was married to one for nearly 20 years - do they generally hook up? Besides, he's extremely masochistic, which doesn't seem to fit. But you are right that he was able to make me think I was the unreasonable one, felt so sorry for himself, the perpetual victim. And I do believe he is just dead inside, just a cesspool of mental illness. I feel sort of tainted that I ever had anything to do with him. The blistering e-mail I sent to him was hasty; but I think now he will definitely stay away.
