For what it's worth, aquarium PH testing kits are relatively inexpensive and a excellent way to test the PH of water. You can pick these kits up from most tropical fish pet stores. They are geared to providing fairly accurate readings. I know this for a fact as I had to use them extensively when I was "cycling" my freshwater fish aquarium and again when I had to perform extensive water testing(including PH testing) in an attempt to identify why so many fish were dieing when I was starting off my aquarium.
