Re: 22 y.o. severely constipated
My own personal experience with enemas has made me a believer in their ability to provide gentle relief from irregularity with few if any negative consequences. My family on my mother's side has a history of "lazy bowel syndrome" as it has been called , going back generations, and I have been no exception.
As far as being too young to use enemas, my age is not far from half way between your age and that of the 22 year old original poster, and I have been using enemas since I was younger than she is now. It was just something in our home that we grew up with, and I am grateful that I was one of the fortunate ones who had a mother (and grandmother too!) who recognized the benefits of the cleansing enema as compared to the alternatives of not taking action and the resulting consequences.
Today I am in excellent health and excellent physical condition, and very seldom get sick with colds, flu, or other typical illnesses that other people experience. I'm active in the winter with skiing and hiking outdoors and visit the fitness center to work out at least 4 days a week, including running on the indoor track. During the summer I swim, hike, run 5 days a week at least, plus workouts at the fitness center. I credit enemas as needed with saving me from the negative consequences of severe and ongoing constipation.
Enemas don't have to be uncomfortable, or even unpleasant if they are administered properly and in a non-hurried manner. Here's a few links that provide more information that I hope readers here might find helpful.
