Re: Hey Beth!!!!
How wonderful to see you here!!!!!
Inverting is so much fun, I look forward to it everyday. I know that it isn't a cure-all and like any form of "exercise" the wonderful benefits will cease if we stop inverting.
As for slight lower back pain, I felt that too. I also had sore leg muscles in the areas behind my legs, that I believe was from using muscles I hadn't used in a long time, or in a way I hadn't used before. I like you, went pretty quickly to a full incline. I think that if you take it much slower you can probably avoid having any pain at all. But like any exercise, if you overdo it, you will feel it.
The lower back pain only lasted a couple of days. I did worry me at first because I was afraid I was injuring myself. But I realise I was just doing too much, too quickly.
And yes inverting will help internal organs back into realignment. I believe that will happen just from being inverted but massaging sure wouldn't hurt the process and I am sure it feels great.
My shoulders are also a lot freer than before. I actually woke up yesterday and gently turned my head on the pillow, and I head crack, crack, crack. Small cracks, but 3 in a row as I felt my spine realigning. I know that must sound scary to some, but it was awesome for me. I can usually crack my own neck just by moving it from side to side and it always feels so much better afterwards (even though people tell me not to). But I have so much more movement now and much less pain.
Off for my morning walk now. Great to see you "upside down" -
ENJOY
