Re: Out of curiosity...survey...
I too went through a lot of stress right around the time I got Candida. My dad passed away after fighting lung cancer for a year and there were a lot of anxious family issues going on. At the same time my niece had leukemia. It was horrible.
When I finally went to a doctor she didn't seem very phased by my suggestion that I had Candida ("yeah, you might have that,") and focused on getting me to relax and become less stressed overall. Although I was put off that she didn't seem to want to go over what I could do to get rid of Candida, I was impressed that she was so concerned about my stress level and lifestyle and really helped me figure out what I should be doing to alleviate it. She gave me the name of a therapist and after starting with the therapist I felt a million times better mentally. My anxiety started to lessen. I kept with my own self-imposed Candida protocol (thanks to this forum!) and I think the combination of those things has really helped me a lot. I feel better now than ever. I've even been adding a few new foods in lately and haven't had any reactions. (I added gluten-free pizza dough from Whole Foods and occasional cow's milk cheeses.)
Great survey idea! Thanks!
PS. I also started taking St. John's Wart around the same time that I started seeing the therapist and I think that helped a lot too. After a week or two I felt so much more positive and happy.
