I also weaned myself down until I was at 1 a day. I stayed at one day for some weeks, but then I realised that it was silly just smoking one cigarette, so I gave that one up too.
I could never have gone cold turkey. I actually think weaning is the best way to go.
We often build up doses of things that are good for us slowly, so why not weaning off bad things slowly as well. Give the body a chance to adjust.
