I wouldn't call it a sad outlook unless it is meant to encompass all men. Some men are nice guys b/c they are wimps, and others who are not are jerks. But there are also men who are strong and kind, although true kindness and true strength (as opposed to fake kindness, aka wimpiness and fake strength, aka aggressiveness) are more difficult to find. But they are there. I married me one and he rocks! :-)
