Re: The Bible: why don't people believe in it?
ralph,
you can take valuable truths from many sources. nowhere does the bible claim to have the only things written down you will ever ever have use for in life. truth is truth, regardless of where it is found. if sylvia brown bother you, then by all means don't buy her books or listen to her programs. i am no sylvia brown expert so i don't know if this is true, but i don't think she ever said the bible is wrong and she is right. i think she just has a very different take on the bible than you and most modern day christian do, doesn't mean she is right, then again doesn't mean she is wrong either.
as i have said in this fourm before, the modern day version of christianity is very differen than that of 100 years ago, or 400 years ago, or 1000 years ago etc. christianity keeps evolving, whether you are aware of it or not.
the current version of christianity is a result of a specific way of looking at the bible, a way that could be wrong or culd be right, but it is a result of an INTERPRETATION. the only truth that is real is the love of God shed abroad in our heart, everything else is shifting opinions and doctirnes that serve to lead us to God, but they themselves are not truth.
