Re: Fasting and the sauna: Don't combine the two!

I would be really careful doing saunas while fasting on water. I know that, for me, saunas are very extreme and induce dizziness upon rising. When water fasting, you most likely will already be dizzy due to a lowered blood pressure. You certainly would not want to rise up and faint in the sauna - That could land you in a great deal of trouble. Just my two cents worth. I would dry brush and netty pot in order to speed up elimination. It seems that saunas, exercise, enemas, all are very enervating while fasting. I understand that different constitutional types can do things a bit differently. But from what I have read and learned from professional fasters is that it is crucial to rest as much as possible. Fasting is based largely on animals in nature who lay down when sick, hibernate, and do not eat - In order to devote all of their energy to repair and healing. A sick and injured animal does not run around inducing detoxifation through stimulation. I guess if your only goal with Water Fasting is weight loss then this would not apply. Sorry. Just rambling.
