I actually think that Iodine is a different situation because it has multiple "leaders" -- a really smart thing to do because there is not just one dominant authority at the top. You all can be trusted servants together, rather than charismatic gurus. I often wish that some of the other personality-driven forums would rotate leadership, but having a committee at the top is also a good way to avoid the ego traps of authority and prestige. I thought that was such a good solution, and I would have said something last spring if you or Trapper alone was going to take over (I did say something about the possibility of that happening at one point, when the moderation of the new forum was being discussed!) instead of all three of you.

The real exception to the single-personality-driven forums that I know of is RG. He is pretty spiritually grounded, though, and really approaches that forum as a great service he can provide, which it is!
