Re: The Honest Food Guide

squeakyclean, thanks for your reply, i take on board what you have said ref. processing foods v fresh produce etc. i guess i'm probably asking too much if i'm trying to strike a balance so that one retains a stabilised bp level, an acceptable weight for oneself, reasonable energy levels, to attain a sustainable healthy body even though one has to forgo the so-called goodies in life which i stopped doing some four years ago.
there is also a question of what ratio one might have to ingest in respect of carbo-hydrates,healthy fats and protein.
what is really known about the digesting of foods through a persons age cycle? so that one only consumes only what they need throughout their life cycles?
i see many many diets, very few if any accounting in regards to the above as though it really doesn't matter not whether your eight or eighty years of age.
the latest fad is really not the answer, perhaps we haven't yet understood our real needs. i am told 5 fruit or veg. when there really is no evidence of that being a must in ones life, so what do you think? is fresh food really what it's made out to be when one has to rely on what farmers feed their livestock or spray on edible plants? one might say eat organic, well that's down to trust itself as well, so there we go.
i have wondered at times is it really the food causing problems or our general lifestyle itself? much to ponder, tomi.
