Re: The Honest Food Guide
luellamay,
thanks for that info.
now what i see on the right, are good healthy foods.
what i see on the left are foods that can lead to bad health, if sustained.
if one had the choice of either eating one or the other i would, like most people choose the foods on the left (the unhealthy foods), simply because they are more pleasurable to eat, whilst the foods on the right are looked upon overall as quite unexciting, boring although necessary for good health.
so luellamay if one is to be encouraged to continuously eat healthy foods, perhaps requiring to have both the pleasure and good health diet could there be a compromise from both sides of the spectrum so that we will be encouraged to maintain a healthy eating and pleasurable 'diet'?
i am very interested in this subject for only yesterday i wrote to the "food standards agency" in the UK to ask why i as a sufferer of hypertension are limited in my choice of foods simply because they are processed with too much SODIUM and ADDITIVES.
i concur that fresh foods are healthier but find although nutritious they really are not energy sustaining, whereas energy foods such as cheese, meat etc.are spoilt by over-use of SODIUM ETC..
i was informed that the RDA of sodium is 6g per day. i tried 1 tin of thick vegetable soup that had 1.4gms. sodium,my blood pressure before that meal was 134/68, after that meal it rose to 156/94. i drink approx. 4 pints of water a day for such occurrences. if i did not i would be in trouble.
i appreciate luellamay that you are quite aware of this and i also know that if i could stay inside of the parameters that your 'post' recommends i would not be telling you this but unfortunately i don't think i would truly stay within those confines.so is there a way to balance this out? i would be interested to know, thanks for your time, tomi.
