Re: Vitamin B12 Prevents Alzheimer's, Depression

I on the other hand would be extremely wary of taking only as pitifully few vitamins, minerals and other nutrients as are found in the produce and processed foods at our grocers - produce that comes from depleted soils and foods that have had most of the nutrition processed out.

The problem with most supplements is that they come as isolates and our bodies are still not able to absorb as much as we need for therapeutic doses.  But your point is well taken, too many people overdo it by gobbling hands full of pills, although it is hard to trust mainstream sources for what is safe when too often their transparent objective is to limit what we take to non-therapeutic amounts in order to not threaten pharmaceutical profits.

The key is to get as much nutrition as you can from healthy foods and to supplement carefully with plant derived and other organic sources for the rest.

And no amount of pills without some exercise and healthy lifestyle choices is going to be enough to insure good health and a robust immune system.
