Hi!
I believe it can cause the abnormal changes in the cervical tissue/cells. I am not a doctor to know for sure. But I've got it too. I have no family cancer history, no abortion or ilnesses. Two kids. Have had Mirena for 1 year, got all the bad side effects,constant pain, Depression and e.c.t. I am in precancerous condition now ,waiting for my tes results next week to see if I've got a cancer or not. I used to be heathy and I am only 34.
